FAQs

The team at SpinePlus do their best to get you an appointment as soon as possible. However, as Dr Licina is in the operating theatre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays he can only see patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We aim to prioritise appointments according to clinical urgency, meaning the wait for an appointment can vary from a few days to a few months. To minimise the wait for an appointment, you may initially be offered an appointment with one of the other specialists at SpinePlus.

Dr Licina is part of SpinePlus, a multidisciplinary practice which has been developed to provide a comprehensive, streamlined approach to back conditions. It sometimes may be more timely or appropriate to see another specialist at the clinic. For example, it may be suggested that you see Dr Adrian Nowitzke, a neurosurgeon, or Dr Angus Forbes, an occupational physician, both of whom work closely with Dr Licina.

Dr Licina does not usually see you if you have an active legal claim, except in urgent circumstances; for example, in the presence of spinal cord compression or a fracture. He is happy to see you once the claim has been settled, as a private patient. Dr Licina will see you if you have a WorkCover or insurance claim, but only within 6 months of your injury. Dr Licina will see you if you hold a DVA card, but you will have to pay the full cost for the consultation as he does not accept the DVA rebate.

Please call the practice on 1300 52 53 54 to discuss your options. Dr Licina only sees patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. Please give us as much notice as possible to ensure we can accommodate your request.
